Animal QTLdb Data Alliances

The Animal QTLdb has formed data alliances with the following databases/projects to extend our efforts to link data across databases and species under a data federation model. This is not only convenient for end users but also synergistic for research activities by the animal genomics/ genetics community and beyond.
  1. Ensembl:
The Ensembl project produces genome databases and a software system to create and maintains automatic annotation on selected genomes for vertebrates and other eukaryotic species, and makes this information freely available online.
  2. National Agricultural Library:
Ag Data Commons is a data access system maintained by the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Library. Ag Data Commons holds data files managed directly by NAL and also links to datasets and resources located on other websites.
  3. NCBI Entrez GeneDB:
GeneDB integrates information from a wide range of species. A record may include nomenclature, reference sequences (RefSeqs), maps, pathways, variations, phenotypes, and links to genome-, phenotype-, or locus-specific resources worldwide.
  4. Reuters Data Citation Index:
The Data Citation Index provides access to an array of data across subjects and regions, providing a comprehensive picture of research output to understand data in context and maximize research efforts.
  5. UCSC:
The UCSC Genome Browser, created by the Genome Bioinformatics Group of the University of California - Santa Cruz, allows users to explore the reference sequence and working draft assemblies for numerous genomes.

Our QTL/association data is also imported by other databases on a regular basis:
  1. Bovine Genome Database (BGD):
BGD provides tools for data mining (BovineMine), sequence database searching (BLAST), genome browsing (JBrowse) and annotation (Apollo).
  2. Monarch Initiative:
Monarch integrates, aligns, and re-distributes cross-species gene, genotype, variant, disease, and phenotype data. It provides a portal for exploration of phenotype-based similarity and improves ontologies to better curate genotype-phenotype data.
  3. Identifiers.org:
Identifiers.org is an established resolving system that enables the referencing of data for the scientific community, with a current focus on the Life Sciences domain.
  4. DTL-FAIRData:
DTL-FAIRData is a data repository that provides metadata and data in a FAIR way.
  5. VCmap:
VCmap is a virtual comparasion map tool for genome feature alignments within/between species.
