Title:Detection of QTL for innate: non-specific antibody levels binding LPS and LTA intwo independent populations of laying hens.
Journal:Dev Comp Immunol., 2006, 30(7):659-66 DOI: 10.1016/j.dci.2005.09.004
Abstract:

In the current study results are presented of an experiment dealing with theNatural antibodies which are measured by level of homotopes LPS and LTA. Twoindependent populations were examined (F2 population descendant from a crossbetween chickens divergently selected for either High or Low specific Abresponses to SRBC (HL) and F2 cross descendant from lines expressed differentbehavior concerning feather pecking (FP)). In total 12 QTL were detected tonon-specific antibody titers directed to LTA and LPS and at two ages afterapplying two statistical models in an F2 HL population. Similarly in an FP crossoverall seven QTL were detected. Based on obtained results it might be concludedthat different QTL regions are associated with immune responses to homotopes LPSand LTA in poultry.
