  •  QTL Experiment in Brief
Animals:A Cornish meat-type strain 21 and an invred egg-type strain WG that differed gratly in their performance were chosen as the parental stains.
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
Design:Traits recorded and analysed included specific gravity, egg weight, albumin height, Haugh score, shell shape, total eggs produced, initial body weight, final body weight, gain, and feed efficiency.
Analysis:Genotyping of all birds was performed using 72 evenly spaced microsatellite markers providing approximately 50% genome coverage at 30 cM marker spacing. Data were analysed using the Bayesian method of QTL analysis for complicated mating design.
