QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | The first population originated from a cross between 2 divergently selected lines for either high or low primary antibody response to SRBC. The second population was a feather pecking created from a cross between 2 commercial lines of layers. |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | The Ab level of LPS and LTA in serum from all the birds was determined by ELISA at 5 and 18 wk of age for the H/L population and 38 wk of age for the FP population. Total antibody response was measured 7 d after immunization. |
Analysis: | For the analysis, only the informative markers for each population were chosen: 170 for H/L population and 180 for FP population. Regression interval mapping was used. Two different genetic models were used: 1) paternal half-sib and 2) line-cross analysis |
Software: | ASREML software and CriMap |
