Title:Assessment of genetic variation explained by markers for wool traits in sheep via a segment mapping approach
Journal:Mammalian Genome, 2001, 12:569-572 DOI: 10.1007/s003350030007
Abstract:

A low-density genome scan for wool-associated QTL was performed on INRA401 sheep, a Romanov/Berrichon du Cher cross population, which has not been subject to selection for wool traits. Forty microsatellites, covering 20 of 26 autosomes, were used. Chromosomes that were analysed using more than one marker and that were identified as potential QTL locations were examined further. Chromosome 3 was identified as having an SL QTL. Less significant LOD scores were obtained for mean fiber diamtere and fibre diameter coefficiant of variation traits.
